Virgin beaches

The coves and beaches along the low coast of the island of Minorca have clean and crystal clear waters that contrast with the white colour of the sand.
The colour of the water is due to the expanse of Posidonia oceanica (Neptune grass), that is known as seaweed.

Most of the beaches are well worth a visit and I would recommend hiring a car especially if you have children. A different beach for them to explore make for an exciting holiday for them and a relaxing one for you. A good tip here is "If the wind is blowing from the north visit the south coast beaches, and visit the north if the wind is from the south"
